Church Music: Track 01
If you're familiar with church culture, you will know that people still sing together there. If you're familiar with evangelical church...
My Story
I've never been able to shake a feeling of responsibility for the environment. Growing up in an evangelical church there are times when I feel like I've heard it all when it comes to obligation. But not so long ago things started clicking into place for me. As I continue to wrestle with the source of this heavy obligation, the freedom found in imitating the life of Jesus and the present state of global environmental issues I can't keep these thoughts to myself anymore.
I really hope you find something here. If anything my primary goal is to give a glimmer of hope. Hope for the future, hope for peace and hope that lasts the rest of your life.
Curated reading list connecting the environmental and spiritual
Conservation and Hope
Possibly the most influential Christian conservation organization on the planet. I have yet to find a message that compares to the one of hope shared by A Rocha and it's supporters. Find a center near you to get involved.
A christian vision for creation care
I found this book to be the best education I've had so far on creation care. There was a bit of tough slogging at first as the author sets the scene of man's abuse of creation but the comprehensive review of schools of thought is well worth reading from cover to cover.
Start here if you want a quality pros/cons list of theological perspectives on creation care.
Encyclical on the environment and human ecology
I'll admit that I could spend a lot more time in these words to better understand the strucuture and main take-aways. However, I was very encouraged by this text, the thoughtfulness and interconnected nature of what is shared and the fact that it comes from the desk of the Pope.
Read this bit by bit if you're wondering whether anyone cares and be encouraged by a sincere piece of work that will go down in history.

Climate Change: An Evangelical Call to Action
Although a bit dated now (2006) this statement is definitive in nature with an impressive list of signatories. It makes claims on the reality and consequences of climate change and the convictions and need to act by Christians.
Read through this if you're discouraged by a disconnect between creation care and the evangelical church or for a few good scripture references compelling action. https://www.npr.org/documents/2006/feb/evangelical/calltoaction.pdf
